To help you prepare...

How close is the beach?

Exuma is filled with great beach options! The closest beaches to The Sanctuary are Hooper’s Bay Beach and Tar Bay Beach. Both are epic!

The public parking access to Hooper’s Bay Beach is less than a one minute drive away. It’s 1.2km or ¾ of a mile. It’s walkable, but we recommend driving as there is no pedestrian sidewalk.

Tar Bay Beach’s public access point is a 4 minute drive.

After a day of fun in the surf and sand, you’ll love rinsing off back at The Sanctuary.

How far is The Sanctuary from the Airport?

The Sanctuary is located less than 10 minutes from the George Town International Airport (GGT). Follow the signs to Georgetown when you take the airport exit onto the Queen’s Highway (SE). The resort is located on the RHS just past the second exit to Moss Town. (If you get to Darville Plaza, you’ve gone too far).

Do you have high-speed wifi?

Your residence and the common areas at The Sanctuary have Starlink Wifi. (Even though you are here to relax and explore, we know that you might still have to get some work done or catch the latest episode of your favourite Netflix show).

Where do we get groceries and supplies?

The nearest grocery store - Exuma Markets - is a 30 second drive (or short walk) in Darville Plaza. The plaza has an assortment of small shops and a couple of local restaurants. (There are buildings behind the plaza that has a little bakery and breakfast place).

The closest liquor store is 5 minutes toward George Town. Located next to Smitty’s grocery store and pharmacy, it is generally well stocked with beer, wine, spirits, and tobacco products.

Do you recommend a rental car?

Absolutely, yes! Parking for one vehicle is included at our residences. Having wheels will give you the freedom to explore the wonders of Exuma. There is no Ride Share service available and taxis can be pricey. Trust us, a car is worth it.

If it’s not in the cards for you, it’s possible to explore the beaches around us by foot.

What do you provide in your residences?

All of our residences are equipped to be your home-away-from-home. For a full listing of what’s included, see the amenities list in the residence descriptions.

What are the Pool hours and rules?

The pool is open from 6am to 11pm. We ask that all visitors respect the relaxing nature of our resort and enjoy the pool quietly from 9pm on. Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty.

What are the Wellness Studio hours?

Early risers can use the keypad to access the studio as early as 6am. We ask that you don’t use the facility later than 10pm. Contact the Concierge team for any special accommodation.

For a full list of the amenities, see the Pool and Fitness Centre section of our website.

Do you offer fitness classes?

No, we don’t offer classes or personal training. If you are looking for personalized services, please contact our Concierge team who can let you know about possible third party service providers. Please note that all providers accessing the resort must be pre-approved.

We have friends staying nearby. Can we get guest access to The Sanctuary for them?

Yes. If you are simply hosting your Visitors in your residence, they need only to register and no resort fees will apply.

For Visitors who wish to enjoy the Wellness amenities, we can arrange resort passes with a daily resort fee. All guests must be registered and paid in advance. Guest privileges are subject to availability in order to preserve the private and tranquil environment that our guests enjoy.

How do we check in?

Access to your residence is through a digital keypad. You will be provided with your code as your reservation approaches. It’s just like accessing your own private home. Our concierge staff is available to assist with any special requests. Contact information will be provided upon your scheduled arrival time.

Can we get an earlier check-in or later check-out?

We understand that flight times vary and schedules may change. We do our best to accommodate early/late check-in’s and outs. This is dependent upon suite availability and scheduling of our housekeeping team. For special arrangements, contact our Concierge team.

What about mosquitos and no-see-ums?

Bugs are a part of island life and are dependent upon the season. No matter when you are visiting, we recommend bringing your favourite bug spray - especially if bugs LOVE you.

All of our two bedroom residences have screened lounging areas so you can enjoy being in the fresh tropical air bug-free.

Can we drink the water?

Yes, our resort is connected to Exuma’s municipal water service.

Can you arrange private chefs?

Yes, our Concierge team can help you to make arrangements for a special dinner. All catering staff need to be registered and approved.

Do you offer massage or other spa treatments?

While we don’t provide these services, our Concierge team can help you to arrange private treatments from a list of approved providers. Contact Concierge for assistance in booking.

Can you accommodate large groups or events?

Contact us directly with what you are planning and we can let you know what options are available. With enough notice - and subject to availability - we can help you to plan a full ‘Resort Takeover’ that will give you the freedom to customize your experience for your family reunion, group retreat, or collaboration event.

Do you provide beach chairs and umbrellas for use off-resort?

No. We provide beach towels for every residence. Local shops can set you up with any supplies you may need for your beach visits. We recommend packing a soft-sided cooler - it can make a great carry-on bag!
